The formula is free of parabens, glycerin, and propylene glycol, which are typically found in conventional water-based lubricants. Both parabens and propylene glycol are known irritants and can cause adverse reactions in many women. Glycerin is a sugar alcohol that provides a favorable environment for Candida albicans, the most common fungal organism responsible for vaginal yeast infections.

Swede has lowered the pH to 4.5, which corresponds to the average vaginal pH. The formula is condom-safe and can be used with all sex toys.
